I have long hair (like halfway down my back) that has a little bit of natural wave to it, and it’s a dark reddish brown colour. I love making it wavy (wavier than it naturally is) and straightening it, and putting it up.
I need some new ideas for hair styles. Anything: updos, leaving it down, etc.
Preferably nothing to "cute" because that really doesn’t suit my style, I prefer to have a bit of edge to my hair. I like to range from edgy to elegant (bit of a stretch, I know).
Oh yes, and I have longish sidebangs that fall to the left side of my face.

My hair is quite long and all one length. I would like to go for a modern cut with long layers in it (so I can put it in a ponytail for sports at school etc). I would also like a long angle [emo] fringe [that falls over my eyes] that is long enough to go into the ponytail but can also look stylish down on it’s own. I also like putting plaits in my hair overnight to make it come out wavy in the morning so I don’t want anything too drastic. And I’d like to be able to style it in different ways e.g. curls and straight… Can anyone suggest anything or offer any websites which will give me my ‘perfect’ cut? Or is this too much to ask?
And I’d prefer not to have long lists of websites with hundreds of layered cuts on it that people have just found randomly on google.. Trust me, I’ve searched through them all!

You’ve already explained your cut perfectly. There are few who wouldn’t understand exactly what you are talking about. Simply get references for a good hairdresser and explain exactly the same.
Well at first I’ve been wanting to get my hair to the length it’s at right now (just right above my waist), but it’s such a hassle and it gets messy fast when it’s down; there’s a lot of split ends and such, too. I was thinking of maybe getting a short hair cut (layered still, that’s my style), or just trim off the ends. But I mostly want to keep the length, just get really sharp layers (meaning you can actually see that I have layers without my having to tell you). If you watched that Disney 365 bit with Selena Gomez and David Henrie, I was thinking of cutting my hair like hers- my hair is already that length, but you can barely see my layers. Does anyone know a website that has a picture of that hairstyle so I can show the haircutting person?

I have a heart shaped face and my hair is mid back length with the waves and curls. i can’t find any pics with layered wavy hair. help!!!

Its dark brown, the longest layer is about 30 cm down from my shoulders and the shortest about shoulder length.
Im totally sick of wearing it in a pony tail cause it doesnt show the layers!
also, i have a fairly long neck, so buns and stuff dont really look too good.
and i cant wear my hair out for school. 
so yea.

get a few bobby pins and tie back the front part into a big ‘boof’ at the top of ur head and wear the rest in a high pony– it shows off the layers if you have previously tied up the front in a ‘boof’
